Children are unique individuals with special emotional and psychological needs that often require as much attention as the burn itself. With this in mind, The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Burn Center experts establish an individualized course of treatment for each child and family to ensure a speedy recovery with best outcomes. The Burn Center is comprised of specialists from varying disciplines, including: Burn Surgeons and Nurses, Pediatric Anesthesiologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Social Workers, Child Life Specialists, Teachers and Home Care Referral.
The Burn Center at the Children's Hospital of Michigan provides a warm and caring environment for pediatric burn care, prevention and education. Program attention is focused on caring for children of all ages while implementing a comprehensive treatment plan that results in a shorter hospital stay and a quicker return home. They are able to provide outpatient follow up and rehabilitation needs once the patient is discharged.
