DETROIT — Children’s Hospital of Michigan is loosening visitor restrictions effective July 1, 2020.

Two visitors, only parents or guardians, are permitted to visit patients on the inpatient hospital units, emergency department, observation unit or surgery. No siblings or extended family members are allowed at this time. One parent or guardian may stay the night. The second parent or guardian may visit during the hours of 8 a.m.-8 p.m. For outpatient services and clinics, only one visitor, a parent or guardian, can accompany a patient receiving care.

All visitors will be screened for symptoms of respiratory illness prior to entering a Children’s Hospital of Michigan location. Individuals with the following symptoms will not be permitted to visit patients: fever, runny nose, cough and shortness of breath.

All visitors are required to wear a face mask and will be asked to sanitize their hands and observe social distancing requirements.
