Lifelike dinosaurs bring joy to children at Children's Hospital of Michigan
A life-size dinosaur visited the patients at the DMC Children's Hospital in Detroit on Tuesday, courtesy of the national Dino & Dragon Stroll.
The kids were able to pet and dance with the creature in the lobby. The dinosaur also took a lap around the hospital so kids could see from their windows.
"Whenever we get the opportunity to have something that has fun and play and the opportunity to just let kids be kids — that's always the best thing," said Sinead Nimmo, Child Life Project specialist.
"Giving our kids some fun and some joy and some levity was really the goal today."
The massive animatronics of the Dino & Dragon Stroll allow children to get up close to baby and adult dinosaurs. They include a T.rex, Velociraptor and stegosaurus.
This interactive exhibit provides kids with a one-of-a-kind experience. It is on display at Canterbury Village in Orion Township on May 28-29.
