Children’s Hospital of Michigan is state’s only hospital ranked among Newsweek’s World’s Best Specialized Hospitals for Pediatrics
Sep 13, 2023Detroit – Children’s Hospital of Michigan is rated as the best in Michigan and 23th in the world for pediatrics in Newsweek’s World Best Specialized Hospitals 2024 rankings. Children’s was the only children’s hospital in the state on the list. The ranking program features the top 250 hospitals for pediatrics worldwide.
Newsweek, working with the research firm Statista, invited tens of thousands of healthcare providers, workers, and hospital leaders from over 20 countries to provide primary and secondary recommendations via an online survey on Newsweek.com. A global board of renowned medical experts then reviewed and validated the results. According to Newsweek, the rankings are compiled to help patients and their families know which hospitals have the most accomplished physicians and diagnosticians and advanced technology to offer the highest level of care.
“It is an honor to be part of Newsweek’s ranking of best specialized pediatric hospitals,” said Archie Drake, CEO of Children’s Hospital of Michigan. “This recognition is a reflection of the commitment and dedication of our clinical and support teams to providing the most compassionate and highest quality of care to the children and families that depend on us.”
The Newsweek ranking comes on the heels of Children’s Hospital of Michigan being ranked for the 15th year in a row by U.S. News & World Report as one of the premier hospitals in the country for pediatric care. CHM was nationally ranked in four pediatric medical specialties – cancer, gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, neurology and neurosurgery and urology.
