Children's Hospital of Michigan Offers COVID-19 Vaccinations for Kids and Teens Ages 12+
May 14, 2021DETROIT — Children’s Hospital of Michigan is committed to providing safe, quality care to children and their families. Based on the guidelines and regulations provided by the CDC and the state, DMC is now able to offer Pfizer COVID-19 vaccinations to individuals 12 – 17 years of age. At this time, Pfizer is the only vaccination approved for this age group.
Vaccinations are currently offered at DMC Harper-Hutzel Hospital located directly behind Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
“The ability to vaccinate this age group is a very important step in our efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19,” says Dr. Rudolph Valentini, Chief Medical Officer for Children's Hospital of Michigan. “This vaccine has proved to be safe and effective, so we encourage families to get their children vaccinated as soon as possible.”
For parents and guardians, ages 18 and older, Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available. Moderna and Pfizer are two dose vaccines, and Johnson & Johnson is a single dose vaccine.
Patients will not receive a bill from DMC for this service. If you have insurance, your insurance carrier will be billed.
